Ed Hardy seem RealJock
Armed with an $150 Macys gift card received for my birthday I check out the local big box Macys store to check out this Ed Hardy brand all guys seem to be going after. OMG
Ed Hardy seem RealJock,$60 Tees? $92 tees? $200 jeans? Since when did Macys overe Abercombie and Fitch?????
Could someone explain the Ed Hardy craze? Is this a straight thing or general male craze? Am I crazy and unshionable because I dont want to even touch these items?
Samples:
Give me my $19 American Eagle tees please
Ed Hardy is way too trendy for me! I went through a short Abercrombie phase but realized I was too old to be wearing it...LOL!
I mostly shop at Target now!!
I have NEVER been a shionable person myself. Guess that part of the gay gene passed me up lol. Most of my cloths come from Target, JCPenny, SEARS, and (gasp) Wal-Mart. I think the most I spent on one clothing item was a $50 undergear sweater last winter.
Honestly, it kinda looks like someone took the flash art you find on the walls of a tattoo shop, and glued them onto some shirts and pants lol.
Grrr! I HATE Ed Hardy, Smet, and christian Audigier!!
They are all the same and all designed by Christian Audigier!
They are Douche status clothes here in LA!
When buying motorcycles lately I find myself saying to the salesperson: Do you have a bike without graphics that came off a skateboard?
I suspect these shions were meant to complement skateboards, and nothing adult men would wear. Not what I would call an adult, anyway.
i shop at target for tees and jeans. I subscribe to plain solid colored clothing. the clothes do not make the man.
Ive LIVED for Hardy since before Hardy was Hardy. Don Ed Hardy was a tattoo artist and a LEGEND among tattoo collectors like myself. When Christian left Von Duth to created the Hardy brand I was ecstatic!
After the tattooing i heard about Hardy because Madonna started wearing a certain pink trucker cap with a classic tattoo geisha on it, she then gave similar caps to friends Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher... from there Kutcher gave pieces to Diddy and the rest is history. That history has been cemented into LA and shion culture by Christians several appearances on The Janice enson Modeling Agency.
Being a tattoo collector i love the pieces, though I, to date, only have a single hat. The stuff is indeed expensive, which hurts my heart, but in my opinion is some of the coolest out there right now. The classic tattoo inspired designs blow other lines that i like, like Affliction, out of the water.
I will be donning Don Ed Hardy at Justin Monroes book release party and i cant wait! (yeah... but because im from the mid-west and a dork... that is on Lay A Way LOL)
I have to agree, those clothes are hideous. I saw the Ed Hardy underwear at Macys this weekend and thought...if a guy took his clothes off and had those on...hed be putting his clothes right back on!
Hehe Im glad these arent some must have item.
Thanks for the info Stripper ^ I guess its another item with meaning thats now lost its way on the road to being another UGG status item. And it does seem to be working at least here.
Of course this is Connecticut, the state where everyone is filthy stinking rich and profits from all the financial troubles of the rest of the nation
its dumb! ed hardy is a joke. i think its a slap in the ce to the entire art of tattoos.
I consider myself a very shionable person, but I prefer not to be trendy. Trends de, and ed hardy is definitely a trend.

it couldnt have been better put. Ed Hardy is that s on the bottom of your shoe what makes a squishing noise while you walk, its not pleasant and soon itll pass.
Its a personal choice, just because you dont like something (unless it is Palin but we are not going to go there) it doesnt mean its trash. To each his own.
I personally love Ed Hardy and have quite a few items. I bought them because I like them. We all have different tastes, people should be respectful about that.

Im a professional adult and I wear Ed Hardy..does that make me less of an adult? No..be respectful pls.
you forgot the ridiculous Ed Hardy underwear... its just a trend - but the do sell the stuff for less at Nordstrom Rack if theres one near yoEd Hardy seemu.

If ya got the money to waste, then by all means draw attention to yourself for a few months before the look is as played out as an 8-ball jacket. Just dont complain if next year a smelly guy asks you for a quarter at a stoplight and hes wearing Ed Hardy, chosen from the bin at the local Salvation Army.
Academy, our regional sporting goods store, was selling plain colored tees for $2.99. I wore a black one this past weekend and got a Missed Connection on Craigslist. Talk about ROI.
Some dudes spend so much $$$ and try so hard for such little return. :-P
/gloat
Im with Rugs on this one. Simpler is better. Let your best features give you your notice, not trashy outerwear.
Meh.. I use to care about this stuff... I did take an intrest in the brand last year but I new that it would soon join my Juicy Couture in a cardbord box along with diesel and all the other dated brands...
Its nice but I see it going out soon and being replicated to the 9s by cheaper brands..
I like the casusal of Abercrombie but I know that even then by 25 im gonna have to start dressing my age a little lol... tick tock.

Well, I did speak before I understood from the evolving thread here what Ed Hardy is. From its appearance (plus what I could see of the model at top) I took it to be kiddie stuff, that I connected with the skateboard school of design.
Now Ive learned its related to tattoo art. Which also interests me not a bit, despite being a motorcyclist for over 40 years. But Ill keep those opinions to myself, lest further offense be taken.
BTW, whats a professional adult? I lack any such certification, hate to think Ive been laboring as an amateur adult all this time and didnt know it.

No need for sarcasm...You implied this brand was not for adult or at least you did not consider people who wear it to be adults, regardless of age. I am just saying that I am an adult who wears Ed Hardy bc I like it..period. I could go on to my list of accomplishments but Im not the kind of person that feels the need to brag.
Again, be RESPECTFUL..
It all depends on personal style and taste. If I were to spend that kind of money on clothes I would buy Armani - something , clean and classic that I could pair with other pieces and wear over several seasons. If I saw someone my age (40s) wearing the Ed Hardy brand I would immediately think Mid-life Crisis, whereas younger guys can wear them and look ntastic - Rocco and maverick for example. Your clothes are an expression of who you are (or who you want to be). Even if I cant wear the brand - I enjoy looking at guys who can!
